Following on from the dramatic events of the first book in The Rise of the Remarkables duology, Brasswitch and Bot, we find Wrench and Bot on the hunt for Plum with the aid of Thirteen. Plum is more dangerous than ever and appears to be recruiting more aberrations--determined to re-open the rupture.

Meanwhile, the events of the Minster Schism have drained Wrench of her magic and she begins lessons with Master Tranter in attempt to re-kindle her powers. It is here that she meets Vexanna, Thirteen's new apprentice thaumagician.

They will all have their roles to play, as Wrench works to discover the truth about her past--and make it to her future alive.

This rip-roaring sequel to Brasswitch and Bot (Aug 2020) doesn't disappoint, with action aplenty as Bot and Wrench continue their battles with the evil Plum and the obsessive Captain Flemington.

With Plum recruiting an army of disillusioned Remarkables, the Regulators could have big problems. Captain Flemington would, however, prefer to concentrate on his personal vendetta against Bot and Cabal Thirteen than see the coming danger.

When he instigates an inquisition into Thirteen, it looks like Bot's finished. But Bot manages to turn the tables, and even gets Flemington's inadvertent help in capturing Plum.

A great read with a steampunk feel, in a Victorian era setting. The very humorous interplay between Wrench and Bot is particularly enjoyable.
