A dusty boy is getting ready for bathtime somewhere in the outback, only to be interrupted by a whole host of unexpected guests: a daring dingo, an elegant emu, a rollicking roo, and a clumsy croc (just to name a few) have all made themselves at home in the dusty boy’s bath. Luckily, when the boy runs outside, he sees that the drought has at last broken and is able to take a bath in the rain with plenty of room to include all his unusual friends.
This is a fun, delightfully ridiculous story, playing on the classic repetitive story scheme of works such as There Was an Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly. This repetition, coupled with very cute illustrations and a familiar Australian setting make for a fun, creative storytime book perfect for young readers.
